For Guatemalans residing in Seattle, obtaining a passport becomes a key procedure to ensure that they can travel, study or simply have all their documents in order. The process of obtaining and renewing passports at the Guatemalan Consulate in Seattle follows a standard procedure, which ensures that your documentation is ready when you need it.
Steps to obtain a passport
If you are looking to get your first passport or need to renew it, the following are the steps to follow:
- Schedule your appointment through the Guatemalan consular service appointment system. Remember that each appointment is personal and non-transferable.
- For your appointment, you must present your original Personal Identification Document (DPI), or if you do not have one, the original and recent birth certificate issued by RENAP containing the CUI number. In addition, you must bring a photocopy of both sides of the DPI.
- The passport processing fee is $65.00, payable by Money Order.
Requirements for processing a passport
General requirements include :
- Recent Birth Certificate issued by RENAP with CUI number or DPI in original accompanied by a photocopy of both sides.
- A Money Order for $65.00 dollars to pay for the procedure.
