Steps to obtain a passport
To obtain your first passport, if you are of legal age, you need:
- Present your original DPI, or if you do not have it, your original and recent birth certificate with CUI number.
- Make a payment of $65 at the consulate.
If the passport is for a minor, the process is a little different:
- Both parents must present their original DPI, or their original and recent birth certificates with CUI number.
- Present the minor’s birth certificate, also original and recent, with his/her CUI number.
- Pay $65 at the consulate.

Requirements for adults include:

- Payment of $65 dollars at the consulate.
