Guatemalan Passport Appointment in Atlanta, Georgia
Thinking about renewing your Guatemalan passport or getting it for the first time from Atlanta? Relax, kiddo, here we are going to tell you, step by step and without any hassle, how you can get your passport ready and be able to travel with peace of mind or keep your documents up to date. So sharpen your pencil and take note.
For adults getting a passport for the first time:
- If you do not yet have a DPI, you will need your birth certificate issued by RENAP.
For children (minors), the situation is a little different:
- Go to the consulate accompanied by both parents.
- Present the minor’s original birth certificate issued by RENAP.
- Parents must bring their DPI or Passport.
- If one of the parents cannot go, he or she must present an authorization in a private document with a legalized signature, a public deed or a notarial act. If you are in Guatemala, you can request the authorization through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
For adults, the requirements are as follows:
- Original DPI (if you do not have it, you will need the original birth certificate with CUI number).
- Make a payment of $65 at the consulate.
And for the little cowboys (minors):
- Parents must present their original DPI (or, if they do not have it, the original birth certificate with CUI number).
- You will also need the minor’s original and recent birth certificate with the CUI number.
- Make a payment of $65 at the consulate.
And that’s it! With these steps and requirements, you are now closer to having your Guatemalan passport if you are in Atlanta. Don’t forget that, if you have any questions, it is best to give the consulate a call and they will give you a hand.
