Steps to obtain a passport
To get your first passport and if you already consider yourself an adult, this is what you have to do:
- Present your original DPI, or if you do not have it, your original and recent birth certificate with the CUI number.
- Make a payment of $65 at the consulate.
If the passport is for a minor :
- Parents must present their original DPI, or failing that, the original and recent birth certificate with each parent’s CUI number.
- In addition, they must present the minor’s original and recent birth certificate, clearly, with their CUI number.
- A payment of $65 must be made at the consulate.
Requirements for processing a passport
For adults :
- Original DPI or original and recent birth certificate with CUI number.
- $65 dollars for the procedure at the consulate.
And for minors :
- Original DPI of parents or original and recent birth certificate with CUI number.
- Original and recent birth certificate of the minor with CUI number.
- $65 dollars for payment at the consulate.
