Steps to obtain a passport
To get your first passport and if you have already entered the ranks of adulthood, this is what you need:
- Bring your original DPI, or in its absence, your original and updated birth certificate with CUI number.
- Pay $65 to the consulate.
If the passport is for a minor :
- Both parents must present their original DPI or, if they do not have it, the original and updated birth certificate of each with CUI number.
- They must also show the minor’s birth certificate, also original and with their updated CUI number.
- Make a payment of $65 at the consulate.
Requirements for processing a passport
For adults and minors :
- Original DPI or original and recent birth certificate with CUI number.
- $65 dollars for the procedure at the consulate.
Passports are not issued here
