Steps to obtain a passport
If you are applying for your first passport and you are already an adult, you need to follow these steps:
- Present your original DPI, or if you do not have it, your original and recent birth certificate with the CUI number.
- Pay $65 at the consulate.
If the passport is for a minor :
- Parents must present their original DPI, or if they do not have it, the original and recent birth certificate of each one with the CUI number.
- In addition, the minor’s original and recent birth certificate with his or her CUI number must be presented.
- Make the payment of $65 dollars at the consulate.
Requirements for processing a passport
For adults :
- Original DPI or the original and recent birth certificate with the CUI number.
- Payment of $65 dollars at the consulate.
For minors :
- Original DPI of the parents or their original and recent birth certificates with the CUI number.
- Original and recent birth certificate of the minor with his/her CUI number.
