If you are in Raleigh and the time has come to get or renew your Guatemalan passport, there is nothing to worry about. The process is simpler than you might think, and here we break it down for you so that you have all your paperwork in order, whether you are traveling, studying or for any other purpose.
Steps to obtain a passport
To obtain your first passport or renew it, you must follow these steps:
- Schedule your appointment through the GUATEMALA CONSULAR SERVICE APPOINTMENT SYSTEM, remembering that the appointment is personal, free and non-transferable.
- Submit, in original and a photocopy, your recent birth certificate (not older than 6 months) issued by RENAP that contains your CUI number, or your DPI, as well as a photocopy of both sides of the latter.
- Make a payment of $65.00 dollars in the form of a Money Order.
Requirements for processing a passport
General requirements for both adults and minors include:
- Recent Birth Certificate issued by RENAP with CUI number or DPI in original plus a photocopy of both sides.
- A Money Order for $65.00 dollars to pay for the procedure.
